What should I wear to church?

The question "What should I wear to church" is one that many people ask...

Our policy is simple! ...Dress Modestly!

That's it! We don't have any other rules. We're not Pharisees, but we do believe in good ole fashioned manners and decency. We live in an extreme world where some preachers wear Hawaiian shirts to church to show off how "cool" and "in" they are and other preachers will only be seen in a three piece suit. We're just normal Christians. We're not trying to show off our Christian liberty by wearing whatever we want to and we're not trying to impress God or the brethren with how snazzy we can dress.

If you're still troubled by this, here are some thoughts for guidance and comparison:

* In Rome, if you visit the pope's house, they won't let you in if you're wearing shorts or halter tops.
* For a job interview, you'd naturally want to look your best, right?
* Do you have less respect for the Lord Jesus Christ and his church?

And lastly, there are a few questions to ask yourself to tell if what you're wearing is ok to wear to church:

1. Ask yourself this question while standing in front of the mirror: "If I were on my way to visit with the Lord Jesus Christ in person, would I feel modest and comfortable in what I'm wearing?"

2. How did mom make you dress for church? Mother always told me, if you have to ask, you probably need to change.

3. Will what I'm wearing distract someone else from hearing the sermon and enjoying the Lord at church?

What you wear is a matter of the heart! Obey your conscience and you'll be fine! We hope to see you in church soon!
